Work At Home Common Scams

As with anything that is money-related, there are a lot of scams involving Work At Home Businesses. At MommyJobs we are working to provide a real resource of Work At Home Jobs for people who wish to have a home based business, so we are going to debunk some of the most common scams that target WAHM.

There are variants of every scam, but we will list the most common forms of scams involving the following:

A good rule of thumb to remember when looking for a Work At Home Job is know that anyone asking you for money to work for them is probably a scam. They are supposed to pay YOU, you don't pay them!

Another good rule of thumb is if it sounds to good to be true, then it probaby is! Do you know anyone who is making $4000/month stuffing envelopes? Don't you think that if it was truly the case then we'd all be doing it!

Make sure you do thorough research on any company that you accept a position from.

If you are ever in a position where a "work at home" company has scammed you, you can contact the FTC if you are in the United States:
